The fourteenth is a medium
length par four which winds through a natural rocky
canyon. The side slopes are steep and are covered with
boulders, mature desert vegetation and groups of magnificent
Saguaros.
The drive must be played
to a narrow landing area on the canyon floor with the
proper line being marked by a distant directional bunker.
The approach to the green is guarded by three bunkers,
two short fore-bunkers and one ominous greenside bunker.
Since the green is elevated above a dry creek bed left,
a rock wall has been constructed along the left side
to protect the putting surface. The green is small and
flat but is diabolical to putt.
This is a wonderfully
natural hole which must be carefully negotiated to score
well.
