The short, par
four eighth is sure to be acclaimed as one of
the golf courses most spectacular holes.
The tee shot which
is slightly downhill, must carry the sandy bottomed
Ruelas Wash to find safety on the fairway. At
the base of the steep hillside right is a parade
of vertically stacked boulders, which not only
vary in size and shape, but glimmer with differing
hues of brown and gold. The ideal landing position
from the tee is near the second fairway bunker
on the left, since the putting surface has been
constructed on a diagonal from left to right.
The green side bunker on the right will prove
to be quite menacing to approach shots not played
precisely the correct distance.
While this hole is one of the shortest
par fours on the course, trouble is lurking around
every corner.
