The gigantic 700 yard
par five ninth requires three, long, well placed shots
to have any hope of birdie or par.
This hole begins with
a downhill tee shot to a generous landing area, which
is devoid of trouble, except for two fairway bunkers
on the left. The second shot, which is decidedly downhill,
offers several options since there is a bunker left,
two bunkers center, two bunkers right, and a large lake
bisecting the right half of the fairway. If a player
chooses to play safe down the right center of the fairway,
they leave themselves a long third shot. If one chooses
to play closer to the green, they must negotiate a shot
near the lake and around the bunkers on the left. The
putting surface is guarded by five randomly placed bunkers
and a small wash, which bisects the fairway 40 yards
short of the green.
This hole is sure to
be considered one of the most interesting three shot
par fives in North America.
